We had worked out an itinerary that covered the places we liked best that we have visited in our year here. It’s hard to crunch a years worth of places into ten days! We began by visiting Nan Lian Gardens and 10,000 Buddha’s, but the heat, humidity and jet lag took some of the excitement out of them.
The rest of the week flew by with shopping, visiting the office, taking in a temple session, checking out Macau and as many other things as we could work in. As the week wore on the temperatures dropped slightly and a few clouds came over cooling things off a bit, and making it much more pleasant to be out climbing stairs and jumping on and off of buses, trains and trams.
By Friday it was cloudy and looked like rain, and it was off to Lantau Island for the day. The highlight of the day had to be seeing the pink dolphins. Not only seeing them, but being able to follow three of them and watching them feeding. It was pretty amazing! And the next day we got to see the Panda’s eating, what a treat.
It all came to an end on Monday when we took them back to the airport for their trip home. The Parry boys, and Grandma Parry were more than ready for Mom and Dad to come back, but it was hard for us to see our amazing week come to an end.
It was great to see at least part of our family, but it also made us miss all the rest even more. But during the week they were here we passed our one year anniversary, just six months more and we will be back in the middle of things again. So it’s back to work, and back to making the most of our time here, because we will miss it all when we return home!
